London-based singer-songwriter Alexandra Berglof – a.k.a Berg – is a classically trained musician turned alt-pop artist. The daughter of a Swedish father and American mother, Berg began her intensive piano lessons at age 5 under the strict supervision of a Romanian concert pianist. By age 13, she was performing in concert halls around Stockholm. After dealing with a personal family tragedy, her family left Sweden and Berg took a short step back from music. When she relocated to London as an adult, she began writing and performing her eclectic-pop songs as a coping mechanism.
Together with Faris Badwan (lead singer of The Horrors), Berg wrote the songs for her debut album “Fake Love.” Badwan’s dream-like and ethereal production set the backdrop for Berg’s intimate lyrics that explore the dichotomy of the dark and light sides of life. While recording at Church Studios and Lynchmob, Berg performed for 3000 people at the Cambridge Festival and at other London venues such as Ronnie Scotts and The Troubadour.
Berg released her singles “What If” and “Take Off Your Disguise” in September and October of 2019, and her music premiered in 1883 Magazine, Atwood Magazine, and Gaffa Magazine. Her music video for “Take Off Your Disguise” was funded through a kickstarter campaign and featured in Wonderland Magazine. Berg has also been supported by and featured on London Live TV, Soho Radio, Hoxton Radio and Amazing Radio.
