After the disaster that was the year of 2020, Brooklyn native, KAS, chose to capitalize on opportunities afforded and use this time to lay his sonic groundwork. In doing so, he’s caught the attention of many including SoundCloud and soon after earned the title of ARTIST TO WATCH. Representing Brooklyn New York, KAS stands tall as an artist/songwriter consistently demonstrating sonic versatility and prowess with everything that he touches. KAS’ passion for music bloomed at an early age, deriving much of his influence from his mother, an aspiring vocalist, and his father, a writer and rapper. Engulfed and enamored by a myriad of sounds and genres ranging from legacy R&B, Hip-Hop, Soul, and jazz, to 90s pop and even country, KAS never missed an opportunity to be inspired. His first project, released under the previous moniker “Kris Kasanova,” shared the same year as the birth of his son. However, after balancing fatherhood and his own artist trajectory only furthered his determinations to reach his goals. Having worked with the likes of SZA, Flatbush Zombies, DJ Dahi, and Grammy winning producer Harmony Samuels by his second project 24K, KAS’ success seemed almost predestined. Receiving praise not only for his rhythmically flexible cadence, but also his lyrically poetic inclinations, KAS never misses when delivering heat over any record that comes his way. In the wake of consistent releases, a new moniker, and sharing stages with Kendrick Lamar, Nipsey Hussle, Rick Ross, and many others, KAS has built for himself an almost cult following with a reputation for stunning his audience. Having garnered the attention of Complex, Fader, Notion, BET, and HYPEBEAST to name only a few. Recently inkling deals with SoundCloud & Lyric House the future looks to hold only promise for the Brooklyn native.
